Usage warnings
Keep away from fire and direct heat sources. Hand wash or machine wash on a delicate cycle at 30 °C with a neutral detergent and dry in the shade. Do not use bleach. Not suitable for cribs or for children under three years old without supervision.

Friction, hair and skin
Every time you turn over, the pillowcase drags at your hair and skin. Cotton, however good the quality, has an irregular surface at a microscopic scale. Silk is a continuous, smooth fiber, so hair glides instead of catching.
The pillow that drinks your cream
Cotton is absorbent by design, and it doesn't distinguish between sweat and the cream you just applied. Silk absorbs much less moisture, so what you put on your face mostly stays on your face.
Morning marks
The creases that show up when you wake are the result of hours of fabric pressing against skin in the same position. A surface that glides instead of gripping reduces that marking, especially if you always sleep on the same side.

Momme measures silk density, the way thread count measures cotton. Twenty-two is premium grade: below nineteen the fabric is thin, turns sheer and wears out much faster.
Double-sided
Both sides are mulberry silk. There is no cheap satin backing that ends up being the side touching the pillow.
Hidden zipper
It closes without anything touching your face. Envelope-style cases come open on their own during the night and leave the pillow peeking out on one side.

The standard Spanish and European size. The American 50 × 66 falls short on pillows here and leaves the fabric stretched and wrinkled.
